South African Airways (SAA) will offer flights on a 24-hour basis during the World Cup tournament to meet the expected demand.
There is expected to be a shortage of accommodation during the soccer world cup and in light of this, SAA are expecting a greater demand for people flying regularly between the main world cup host cities.
SAA currently flies about 15 hours a day but it is anticipated that, together with a shortage of accommodation, some of the late kick-off times will create a demand for late night flights.
SAA will work with FIFA’s Match to organise the additional planes to cater for the increased demand. Match will also provide the pilots.
