The Northern Cape Economic Development Agency (NCEDA) was established through a partnership between the Northern Cape Provincial Government and the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Northern Cape Economic Development Agency is driving sustainable economic growth and development in the province in key economic sectors, such as tourism and agriculture, as identified by the provincial government.

Orange River Tourism Route - Northern Cape
Tourism and agriculture are currently the two targeted growth sectors in the province, playing to the Northern Cape's natural advantages in both. The province offers an experience unlike any other in South Africa and complements the tourist attractions of the Western Cape to the south and the big city life of gauteng to the north-east. In terms of agriculture, the province again offers a unique environment for crop and cattle farming. The geography and climate is not conducive to all types of agricultural produce, but land and resources are available for specific niche products. The generation of relevant economic development, planning, and identification and facilitation of sustainable viable projects that contributes towards economic growth and social development.
Services
NCEDA focuses its attentions on providing the following services to the people of the Northern Cape, concentrating on key projects and the creation of spin-off and down-the-line opportunities:
• Identification, prioritisation, facilitation of planning and implementation of projects
• Advise potential business owners on their business proposals
• Facilitation for funding of projects
• Facilitation of feasibility studies
• Facilitation of partnerships
• Linkages of potential role-players to follow-up opportunities
NCEDA focuses on specific sectors in the Northern Cape provincial economy. These include agriculture and agro-processing, mining and beneficiation, and tourism infrastructure.
