The ECDC is developing tourism in the Eastern Cape
The Eastern Cape is one of South Africa's favourite tourism destinations and, as such, is an attractive destination for visitors and investors alike. Offering the combination of developed tourism services and untouched natural beauty, the region is rightly one of South Africa's tourism gems.
The ECDC, as a development finance institution, facilitates investment by funding at a sub-prime rate (2% or 3% depending on associated risk), assisting with land rezoning, providing easy access to incentives, conducting environmental impact assessments and providing extensive aftercare assistance to established investors.

Land for sale at Kei Mouth
Seaside hotel opportunity
The hotel (pictured above) at Kei Mouth has been demolished and the 6 000 square metres of land that it stood upon is up for sale. As well as the prime location, the sweeping sea views and the promise of many high tourist seasons to come, the land already has approved municipal rights to build up to three storeys as well as the necessary rights to put up a hotel on the
land. The owner is asking R22-million for the land. ECDC is looking to facilitate the purchase of the land and the development of the area as a prime tourist attraction in the region.

Seven rental suites, five self-catering lodges, a sparkling pool and a beautiful garden offer guests the ultimate Eastern Cape getaway. The investment would suit consortiums, corporate investors or individuals interested in the tourism industry in the Eastern Cape. The Amadiba Tourism Initiative
Promoting tourism along the Wild Coast
The Wild Coast is perhaps South Africa's last great untapped stretch of natural coastline. The ECDC is passionate about promoting tourism in the area, in conjunction with the local communities, while maintaining the natural and unspoilt feel of the appropriately named Wild Coast. The ECDC calls for investors to partner with local institutions as part of the Amadiba Tourism Initiative to set up accommodation in the form of lodges and camping facilities, to co-ordinate and maintain hiking and horse-riding trails. The land has been properly rezoned and environmental impact assessments have been done.
