Development plans for the Isithebe Industrial Park in iLembe are in two phases:
1. To fill the existing land that is available within the park
2. To put in additional industrial infrasructure to accommodate any new, larger tenants that might be interested in relocating to Isithebe.
The park, in its present state, has land available for new factories that investors might wish to erect, but as yet no plans are in place to expand on the existing extent of the park. That is not to say that new development will not be considered; the municipality will always welcome investment for consideration, on any scale. The industrial park has proved to be a success for its existing tenants, with excellent infrastructure in place, a large and capable workforce at its disposal and an agreeable climate and regional location within the iLembe District Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal.
The limited available commercial land in eThekwini has seen additional interest developing in iLembe for manufacturing space. The development of Dube Trade Port on the southern boundary of iLembe provides further impetus to industrial growth in iLembe.
