Project Application Wizard for iLembe
To streamline project applications Enterprise iLembe has developed a Project Application Wizard. The application wizard allows you to develop your application online, step by step, saving it as you go, so that you can come back to it later. Because it is online it is especially convenient for project applications that are being developed by several people.
The application wizard will walk you step by step through exactly how Enterprise iLembe is set up and how the organisation can assist in developing your project in iLembe. The wizard also provides a preliminary assessment scorecard to evaluate new and exciting projects before entering the application and support stages.

Tourism Destination Management Office
Key projects have been identified for implementation by iLembe District Municipality which are catalytic by nature. Enterprise iLembe will assist in the support and implementation of these projects. One of these key projects is the establishment of a Destination Management Office (DMO) to provide a single point support centre for potential visitors to the region.
The functions of the DMO are:
• To implement and manage appropriate market research in order to identify and grow existing primary tourist-source markets, as well as grow new ones
• To facilitate and manage a process of new tourism product development and attend to upgrading of the existing products
• To facilitate and manage a process of ensuring that an effective tourism marketing strategy develops the brand image, reputation and sense of place, to differentiate ilembe as a destination of choice
• To implement and manage a process of tourism data collection, capturing and analysing (visitor numbers, profiles and revenue), as well as a tourism asset data base
• To implement and manage an iLembe Tourism Product Standards Programme
• To implement and manage a local tourism knowledge and awareness media campaign aimed at the general populace of the iLembe District
• To implement and
manage a process of tourism training and mentoring aimed at the local government structures and previously disadvantaged individuals and organisations
