The Northern Cape is rich not only in natural resources, but also in its people, and their commitment to building the local economy. To this end, the province has identified the strengths and opportunities that it possesses and that are available to it, and have packaged these opportunities for the interest of potential investors looking for return on investment in one of South Africa's unheralded provinces.

Mining and minerals processing

• Hotazel ferro manganese smelter
• Marine and alluvial diamond mining
• Direct reduction iron plant – Sishen
• Diamond-cutting and polishing works – Kimberley
• Small-scale mining opportunities – granite, gypsum, mica, fluorspar, tigers eye
