Location: Hibiscus Coast Municipality (Port Shepstone) 120km southwest of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Description: The project is to utilise surplus land for the extention of industrial sector in Marburg.

Rationale: The Marburg industrial area is the only major industrial zone in the Ugu District and it has been developed on the N2 to the southwest of the Port Shepstone CBD. The land is not flat, but the topography is reasonable for industrial development.

A large variety of manufacturing and service sector businesses are located in the area. Industrial space within Marburg is limited and land to the west of the current Marburg Industrial Development is already earmarked for the development of a prison. However surplus land can be developed for industry.

Feasibility study status: Not undertaken

Budget: R22-million

Employment opportunities: To be established
