France is to host a conference in Johannesburg on energy efficiency in the urban environment in May.

Development finance institution Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the French Trade Commission (Ubifrance) will jointly host the conference on May 5 and 6, in Rosebank, according to a report on Engineering News.

AFD has said the purpose of the conference will be the sharing of South African and French expertise in energy efficiency, in order to support sustainable development.

“The conference will benefit primarily municipalities, policy makers and other parties involved in developing property such as architects, manufacturers amongst other resourceful companies, academics and financial organisations,” said AFD.
