Invest North West
Investing Together

A specialist provincial economic development agency, Invest North West (INW) offers incoming investors the convenience of a comprehensive service in setting up business. Aside from promoting investment, services include destination marketing, investment facilitation, trade development and aftercare to existing North West businesses.

INW aims to contribute to economic development in the province by:

  • Promoting the North West province as a preferred destination for business and development
  • Facilitating trade and fixed direct investment
  • Retaining and expanding established local and international businesses

Facilitating fixed direct investment
The services offered by Invest North West to potential investors include:

  • Identifying and packaging viable investment opportunities
  • Facilitating linkages to business markets
  • Facilitating joint ventures
  • Providing information on financing options
  • Giving advice on feasibility studies and business plans
  • Giving advice on financial and investment incentives
  • Assisting with work permits
  • Providing assistance in obtaining suitable land or factory space

Trade Promotion and Development
In the past, INW has focused on investment promotion and project facilitation, but with the South African economy becoming ever-more integrated in the global economy, there is a growing need for local businesses to diversify and become exporters of goods and services. INW's support for multi-sectoral trade is focused on export growth. Growth in this regard is based on high-growth markets and ensuring that the export community has access to world-class information and data.

Trade services offered to existing and potential exporters include:

  • Compilation of a database of North West exporters and potential exporters
  • Providing advice on export issues
  • Facilitation of outward trade missions
  • Invitations to meet with inward trade missions
  • Exhibiting products at local and international trade fairs
  • Capacity building seminars and workshops
  • Linking of foreign buyers to local exporters
  • Disseminating trade leads and enquiries
  • Networking opportunities
  • Facilitating of export promotion incentives
  • Researching and identifying suitable markets

In its quest to support regional co-operation in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) in particular, and the Africa continent as a whole, INW has compiled country briefs in order to promote intra-regional trade, and help exporters to take advantage of their preferential status.

To acquire a particular country brief contact Khanyile Sibinda on +27 14 594 2570 or at khanyile@inw.org.za

The North West Province has enormous potential, and many locally-made products are well able to compete internationally. Together with agencies such as the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), INW assists producers and manufacturers to acquire and develop export capabilities.

Aftercare
New investment is important to the North West Province, but equally so is the retention and expansion of existing businesses. INW provides existing clients with aftercare services such as business linkages, networking opportunities, business intelligence, seminars and workshops, incentive information, international market access, as well as expansion advice and assistance.
