Talks are due to be held next month in India in a bid to revive the Doha round of trade talks, according to the Indian trade minister after a meeting with his South African counterpart.
“We have taken the initiative and ministers reflective or representative of a rainbow of countries... will meet in Delhi on September 3 and 4," said Anand Sharma, India’s Commerce and Industry Minister, as reported on Engineering News.
The news came after Sharma held talks with South Africa’s Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies in Westcliffe, Johannesburg.
"The objective is to look at the process, to re-engage and re-energise the process which has been stalled for a long time," added Sharma.
