Undersea turbines to be developed

In another sign of the growing popularity of renewable energy projects, Alstom has announced  that they are developing undersea turbines that will generate electricity from tidal currents. Alstom is planning to have the undersea, energy providing technology commercially viable in five years time.

The announcement was made at the launch of the new corpoarte livery Actom, which was formerly known as Alstom Electrical Industries. Alstom's long-standing cooperative partnership with the Boksburg elecrical product manufacturer has been passed on seamlessly and the new Actom will continue to have access to Alstom's latest wind power and biomass technologies.
