

Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment and communications group, yesterday announced the highly acclaimed winners of its prestigious 2010 Africa investor Tourism Awards.
The Africa investor (Ai) Tourism Investor Awards were created to showcase Africa’s opportunities and achievements in the tourism sector to the rest of the world, collectively raise awareness about Africa as a tourism destination and reward those groups developing the African tourism industry as a vehicle to drive sustainable economic growth.
The awards were presented at a high-profile ceremony attended by over 350 guests, which was officially opened by H.E Amai Joice Mujuru, Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Commenting on the Awards the Vice President commended Africa investor for taking the leadership to establish these innovative awards and congratulated the award nominees and winners for their dedication.
South Africa too saw great success, with several initiatives from within the country honoured for their outstanding achievements, including Best Sustainable Tourism Investment going to Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa; the Best 2010 World Cup Legacy Initiative of the year was awarded to the city of Johannesburg; Tourism Investment Advisor of the Year went to Trade & investment KZN and the Best Tourism Investment Programme award was presented to Boundless Southern Africa.
