


Consol, Africa’s largest glass manufacturer, announced yesterday that it would invest R1.9-billion in building a new glass factory in Nigel, Gauteng.
The new factory would help boost the company’s yearly output by 25%, a rise in annual production of 220 000 tons.
Managing Director, Mike Arnold, said that although the current production exceeded demand, the increased capacity was there to cater for anticipated future growth.
