CPI drops to 4.8% in April
Wed, 26 May 2010 16:13In the latest release by Statistics South Africa, South Africa’s consumer price inflation (CPI) index dropped to 4.8%, as the pressure eased on food prices.
The index slowed more than expected and experts have said that this gives the South African Reserve Bank room to lower the interest rate, if it wishes to.
The CPI index dropped to its April level from 5.1% in March.
