South Africa's total industry vehicle sales increased by 36.9% year-on-year in August to 46,377 units, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (NAAMSA) said on 2 September.

When stripping out sales from Associated Motor Holdings and Amalgated Automobile Distributors; which report separately; sales rose by 35.6% to 40,235 units compared with August last year, NAAMSA said.
