

Ipsa planning to double clean coal-fired electricity in E Cape

Independent Power Southern Africa (Ipsa) has announced that is planning to double its capacity of clean coal-fired electricity in the Eastern Cape to nearly 1,000 MW.
The group added that it is also looking to build new steam turbine units between East London and Port Elizabeth.
Ipsa has also begun developing a 500 MW power plant at one of Elitheni Coal’s coal mines at Indwe in the Eastern Cape.
