Mafikeng Airport in North West is to be re-issued with an international licence by Airports Company South Africa. According to North West Premier Edna Molewa the reinstatement of international status forms part of the industrial development around the facility. She said the revamping of the airport is gaining momentum and should be completed shortly. With the province’s proximity to South African Development Community trading partners, the upgrade would offer the export-oriented industries in the province a competitive advantage.
