More tourism investment needed
Fri, 15 Jun 2007 00:00The Chief Executive of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) ,Mmatsatsi Marobe ,has said that investment in Tourism in Africa needs to be encouraged. He said it was also necessary to counteract the effect of a report by the World Economic Forum that puts South Africa low on the list of countries suitable for investment in tourism.
The TBCSA is organising the first of a series of annual conferences where the potential of the continent will be explained to foreign investors. The first conference would be in Cape Town from September 30 to October 2. Marobe said the TBCSA had engaged with the government over the need for more incoming flights. It is necessary for the country and continent to be marketed properly.
