The MoU follows a visit by a delegation comprising KZN provincial government and uMshwati municipal officials, led by KZN premier S’bu Ndebele to South Korea and the establishment of a partnership between the two regions.

Ndebele, delivering the key note address at the uMshwati Municipality’s local economic development summit in Durban, said he was encouraged by the response they had received from the South Koreans who were also at the summit. He indicated that the province was looking forward to the opportunity for Korean companies to participate and cooperate in the local economic development process.

A second MoU was signed with the Development Bank of Southern Africa on sustainable development projects.
